# Become A Professor

> &#x20;The **Pokédex** is a digital encyclopedia created by [Professor Oak](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Professor_Oak) as an invaluable tool to [Trainers](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Trainer) in the [Pokémon world](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_world). It gives information about all [Pokémon](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_\(species\)) in the world that are contained in its database, although it differs in how it acquires and presents information over the different media.

### What is the PokeCloud Pokedex

PokeCloud has it's own Pokedex database based on the Pokemon GO world. Species information is stored on a server and available to hundreds of thousands of Trainers worldwide using the PokeCloud bot.

### PokeCloud Professors

&#x20;PokeCloud Professor's are very viable in the operation of the PokeCloud bot as Trainers need up to data information. Professor's are able to edit the Pokedex right from Discord using easy to use commands. So if a species becomes shiny, a nesting pool change occurs, or new Pokemon are released --- It's up to the PokeCloud Professors! Creating, expanding and the fun never ends in the world of Pokemon as there is so much to share and discover!\

Once approved as a Professor, you will gain access to the `PROFESSORS` category on the PokeCloud Discord server. This will allow you to chat with fellow professors about changes needed or ideas to improve the Pokedex. The `help` command will also change allowing you to see the additional Pokedex commands.
